To prototype the process that leads to indoor cultivation, a simplificated model was essential, that is systematically drawn down to what is needed – a system that holds together the elements, schematic, simplicated view – to understand how can we redress it.

Envisioning ways to grow food in urban landscape or for indoors led me to search for any ways that you can integrate eco-systems into everyday spaces – what if your furniture would adapt for a different function – that is to hold plants or fish or connect them. These adaptive systems could then fit in the space and in the environment exactly the same way but with altered functions.

The Cultivator Project aims to expose the potential of urban agriculture and the growing movement of local food production that has the power to substantially benefit our cities – and ourselves. The goal is to enable people to become an active participant in local food systems, with the purpose of producing goods within your own home for personal use and for small businesses that can potentially scale-up.

In order to facilitate this process, a toolkit and manual is being designed for helping people to build household aquaponic systems based on low-budget solutions so that everybody can use it.
Aquaponics is the method of growing crops and fish together in a recirculating system. It is the most sustainable food source in the world; no traditional farming equipment is needed, a minimal space is required, while fish and fresh vegetables are growing in a continuous, sustainable system. And the output is 100% organic.

The project is a proof of concept, on designing urban systems for ecologically supportable, conscious, contemporary lifestyle with emphasis on the implementation of reused objects, a model where household furniture adopts to the functionality of food production, transforming into a productive aquaponic system.

our question was: ” What if we could offer a unique and traditional Milanese experience to business travellers?”

Italian Job is a service that gives visibility and accesibility to existent small practices for people who come to Milan and are interested in making things in a classical way.

The Italian Job is a service providing unique leisure experience for business travellers using the already existing crafts services of the city of Milan. By creating easy access, clear information and packed solutions, this service both proposes a new definition for using hand-craft services and gives the independent practices the possibility to be in a network, having a more corporate branding and providing international visibility.

The service is targeted for self-employed individuals, group of travellers or corporate guests of companies located in Milan. The main offer is about typical handcrafted products such as tailored suits and shirts, leather goods and accessories. The customers can enter the web platform and decide how to customize their own package, depending on their needs, time and amount of money they want to spend. In this way the experience is totally customizable and can be tailored in a different way for every user.

During the work, with the help of the farmers of Cascina di Mezzo, we were deeply analysing the context and used different techniques and tools (storytelling, storyboarding and representation tools) to develop our design scenario and than prototyped our idea.

Farm Friends is a great way to meet new people at Casina Di Mezzo in Parco Agricolo di Sud Milano. To participate, people have to join a picnic group on Meetup and participate in fun activities. After attending a couple of pinics, they will become a Farm Friend to host their own picnic and they will be invited to special events of the Cascina.

We made 5 short videos to present and explain the idea; preparing the conditions, how to reach the place, setting the context, experiencing the activities and cleaning the spot. Videos are made by Bland.

Wall space organizer that creates an actual reference in space and allows the user to visualize important locations or moments within a specific townscape. Applicable to any city or geographical point.

Talking Flower sends us the plant’s needs in short messages through gsm, microblog and e-mail. It has a small screen and a speaker for direct notifications. Connecting to a computer via USB its personality, display and sound can be configured like an avatar.

The theme of these boards is “etno-rethink”; the presentation and the reinterpretation of the etno stlye in our present environment. Made for a fashion design competition.

You can store a poem or any personal message in your bean. Push the Bean’s belly so that the LED eye starts blinking the encoded poem or the (secret) message in Morse code.

The goal of my thesis was to design an eco-kitchen product and its surrounding that calls the attention to eco-conscious way of living and consuming, and gives high priority to up to date technical possibilities.

Plantus is a self-supporting system for growing plants, herbs and vegetables using nutrient solutions without soil, caters fish (also consumables) and disposes a separated sprouting unit.  As indoor equipment it can be used as a space divider set, as well. Plantus is interactive, communicates with the customer and completes today’s kitchen to make it a real eco-tech part of a 21st century household.
